Annapurna (Khopra) Trekking with Chitawan safari
TThe trip consists of relaxed city tours to various sights, a jungle safari in the south of the country, and a six-day trek in the Annapurna region. On the Khopra Danda Trek, you will discover magnificent nature and mountains. This is an uncomplicated trekking journey in Nepal. Most of the trail is lined with lush rhododendron, bamboo, and other vegetation. The path eventually leads you to the Annapurna range.
1. Day - Departure Europe
Departure from Zurich or another European airport on a scheduled international flight.2. Day - Arrival Kathmandu
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be met at the airport and transferred to a *** hotel.3. Day - Sightseeing Kathmandu
Durbar Square is one of the oldest parts of the city, known for its traditional architecture. After lunch, you will visit Swayambhunath. This famous site is situated on a hill in the middle of the Kathmandu Valley and offers panoramic views of the entire valley. On the hill stand a temple, a stupa, and a monastery, all of great significance to both Hindus and Buddhists. The temple is also known as the “Monkey Temple” because many macaque monkeys live around the hill and are not afraid of humans.
Around midday, you will continue to Pashupatinath, a sacred Hindu temple complex and cremation site located on the holy Bagmati River. Later, you will visit Boudhanath, whose stupa is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Buddhists from around the world. It is the largest stupa in South Asia. The area surrounding the stupa is lively and offers plenty to see and experience.4. Day - Bhaktapur and Patan Sightseeing
Bhaktapur is another ancient city in the Kathmandu Valley, renowned for its wood carvings and long tradition of pottery craftsmanship. It has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch, you will visit Patan, another historic city in the Kathmandu Valley.5. Day - Kathmandu – Pokhara
Today you travel to Pokhara, a beautiful city in the Annapurna region. You will be driven there by private vehicle. The remainder of the day can be spent enjoying a leisurely walk along Phewa Lake. In clear weather, you may see the Annapurna range and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain), whose distinctive shape bears a remarkable resemblance to the Matterhorn.6. Day - Drive to Kande (1,700 m) and Trek to Australian Camp (1,890 m)↑190 m.↓10 m. 3 KM
After a one-hour drive, your trekking adventure begins in Kande and continues to Australian Camp. Our porter team will prepare your luggage for transport. The day’s trek ends at Australian Camp, where you will spend the night in a cozy mountain lodge atmosphere.7.Day - Trek to Landruk (1,565 m)↑280 m.↓535 m. 12 KM
Today's trek is mostly straightforward and leads toward Landruk. The trail passes through rhododendron and bamboo forests. The village is surrounded by terraced landscapes, and below the village lies a famous wild honey cliff.8.Day - Trek to Ghandruk (1,950 m)↑600 m.↓225 m. 9 KM
The trail first descends to the river. After crossing a suspension bridge, you will climb steadily uphill to Ghandruk. The route passes through beautiful terraced fields. Gurung is an ethnical group; many of them are Gurkha soldiers. The rest of the day you are able to stay in your lodge or spend looking around the village. There also is a small museum in which you can try on some traditional Gurung clothes.9.Day - Day Rest in Ghandruk
Ghandruk is a traditional Gurung village. The Gurung people are an ethnic group well known for their service as Gurkha soldiers. In the afternoon, you can explore the picturesque village with its narrow alleys and slate-roofed houses. There is also an opportunity to visit local museums.10.Day - Trek to Tadapani (2,630 m)↑690 m.↓0 m. 7 KM
After a relaxed breakfast, today’s trek climbs steadily toward Tadapani. The trail initially passes through terraced farmland before entering rhododendron forests.11. Day - Trek to Bayeli (3,430 m)↑920 m.↓120 m. 11 KM
The trail passes through Mushar and Isaru. Today you will hike above the tree line and enjoy spectacular mountain views.12. Day - Trek to Khopra Danda (3,660 m)↑250 m.↓20 m. 5 KM
Arrival at the highest overnight point of the trek.13. Day - Excursion Day and Overnight Stay in Khopra Danda
Today’s program is flexible and can be planned together with your guide. You may choose to hike to Khayar Lake, a beautiful alpine lake, and return to Khopra Danda. This excursion takes approximately 7 hours. Alternatively, you may opt for a shorter hike in the surrounding area.14. Day - Trek to Paudwar or Bhalkharka (2,400 m)↑10 m.↓1260m. 10 KM
15. Day - Trek to Tatopani (1,190 m)↑10 m.↓1220 m. 7 KM
The trail continues downhill to Tatopani. The name Tatopani means “hot water.” Here you can enjoy natural hot springs and relax after several days of trekking. The village is located within one of the deepest gorges in the world.16. Day - Drive back to Pokhara.
17.Day - Rest Day in Pokhara
Today the trip continues to Pokhara. Pokhara is a nice city in the Annapurna region. The rest of the day you are going to spend with a city tour. You can explore the area around the lake and you will find lots of small shops and garden restaurants at the lake side where you can enjoy the view on the lake and the mountains. Alternatively you can make a trip to the “World Peace Stupa”, which is built with Japanese help on top of the hill. In the evening there is going to be a cultural program with traditional music and dances.18. Day - Bus drive to Chitawan
Today you will be driven with a tourist bus to the Chitawan National Park.19. & 20. Day - Activities in Chitwan Safari
Today, you will start the day with a jungle safari by jeep. With a bit of luck, you may spot rhinos, tigers, antelopes, crocodiles, anteaters, and many smaller animals. The area is also home to an exceptionally diverse bird population, making it an excellent place for birdwatching.
In the evening, a local cultural program is usually offered. These programs are organized by the lodge. Your guide will meet with you in the evening to discuss the plans for the following day.21. Day Chitawan - Kathmandu
Today the day starts with a canoe ride. You will stop at an elephant breading center. There you will be able to see young elephants and you are allowed to pet them carefully. Afterwards an oxcart will bring you back to your hotel through Tharu villages. After that you would be driven to Kathmandu by Bus.22. Day - Kathmandu

Requirements
You will find the level of difficulty and the type of accommodation of each journey in the program.
Equipment
You are going to get an equipment list as recommendation together with your travel documents. The equipment for a tent trekking (tent, mattresses etc.) will be organized locally.
Luggage
You are allowed to check in 20 kg as well as you can take 5 kg of hand luggage with you. If you would like to travel with a trolley case, we kindly ask you to take an additional big backpack with you. Luggage which you do not need while trekking can be deposit for free in Kathmandu.
Entry
For the entry to Nepal you need a passport which is valid further than 6 month after your departure date. You will receive your visa upon your arrival at the airport in Kathmandu. You will be told about the visa expenses while booking, since the fee changes from time to time.
Health
Himalaya Trekking suggests seeing your doctor or a tropical doctor as early as possible so you will be informed about current provisions regarding injections. Pharmacy or a doctor will help you regarding your personal trip first aid travel kit.
Group size
Himalaya Trekking guarantees for every tour. We do not have any minimum size for a group, but we do have a maximum of 12 persons per tour.
Tour program
The daily program should be seen as very flexible since we have to consider the local circumstances as well as your physical condition. Your guide will plan with you every evening the next day.
Travel documents
You are going to receive the detailed travel documents with general information as well as your flight tickets 2 to 3 weeks before departure.
Tipping
The tip for the local guides and carrier are not included in the travel costs. It is common to tip them for a good performance.
Accommodation and meals
The overnight stays in Kathmandu and Pokhara will be in a middle class hotel. The restaurants can be chosen individually, as lunch and dinner are not included in the travel costs.
During a lodge trekking the hike will be trough village to village. You will stay overnight in a basic hostel and you are going to have your meals there or in a restaurant on the way. During the camp trekking you are going to stay in one man or two-person tents and all the meals will be provided by private cook.
Insurance
Himalaya Trekking recommends having travel insurance as well as a cancellation protection. We also recommend having a copy of your police with you.
Climate
The weather in Nepal is nice. The summer is together with the monsoon season from June to October, the rest of the year is dry. There is mild climate in the Kathmandu valley, during the summer time around 20-30°C and in the winter time around 0-15°C.
Please consider the climate for your travelling plans, since the county covers a height form 75 MASL to 8848 MASL. Therefor the climate changes and if you are in the wrong place to the wrong time you will probably not see the Himalaya. However there still is a suited journey for every time period!
