The trek begins in Dharapani (1,960 m) and ends in Kagbeni (2,850 m). The Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of Nepal’s most famous and popular trekking routes. It takes you on a circular journey around the Annapurna Massif, starting in Dharapani and ending in Jomsom. This trekking route offers a diverse landscape, ranging from lush green valleys to arid high-altitude deserts.
The trek starts in Dharapani, a village in the Manang District. From there, you follow the Marsyangdi River, passing through beautiful forests, terraced fields, and traditional villages. The trail gradually ascends and offers breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks such as Annapurna II, III, and IV, Gangapurna, and Manaslu.
As you continue trekking, you reach Manang, a picturesque village renowned for its Tibetan Buddhist culture and stunning mountain scenery. From Manang, the trail leads to the Thorong La Pass, the highest point of the trek at an elevation of 5,416 meters. Crossing the pass is a challenging yet rewarding experience, offering spectacular panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges.
Tilicho
This trek is a true Trans-Himalayan adventure and leads to one of the highest lakes in the world. Tilicho Lake lies at an altitude of 4,919 meters in the Central Himalayas. The route crosses one of Nepal’s most frequently traversed mountain passes. You ascend to an elevation of 5,516 meters and are rewarded with magnificent views of Manaslu, Himchuli, and numerous other peaks.
The descent leads through dense forests toward Tilicho Base Camp. Afterwards, you reach the Thorong La Pass, one of the most beautiful mountain passes in the country.
After descending from the pass, the trail continues to the famous pilgrimage site of Muktinath, known for its sacred Hindu and Buddhist temples. From Muktinath, the trek follows the Kali Gandaki Valley, considered the deepest gorge in the world. Along the way, the majestic peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri accompany you on both sides of the valley.
